Will Raghuram Rajan be able to meet the challenges facing the economy successfully?

The new RBI governor comes at a time when the rupee has hit several all-time lows over the past week. The inflow of foreign funds has slowed, indicating that confidence in India as a growth story is waning. What do you think the new RBI chief must do to breathe new life into the economy? Do share our views with us.

Yes. I am confident. Keeping in view his capabilities I am confident that Mr.Rajan, RBI governor will be able to face the current challanges successfully.

I think it is not possible. Because Indian Economy has never faced such a situation of unique stagflation ever before. plagued with too much dependence on dollar denominated capital, and bad economic economic policy, corruption under the UPA regime, policy inaction, too much dependence of Imports and implementation of non developmental expenditures such as Food security bill etc, relentless increase in food prices and making a wrong interpretation of the subsidies i all front has made India's situation as worst ever. Rajan cannot do anything unless and until a new Government would form which should be excluding this corrupt congress politicians who destroys the image internationally.

RBI has a very limited role in reviving the economy. The real onus of reviving the economy, by reducing the CAD and fiscal deficit, is with the GoI - particularly the FM. Proper political and economic governance is the crux of the matter where the record of performance of GoI is very dismal and this is the reason why there is lurking fear of sovereign default by Indian Govt. Unless governance improves and profligacy stopped, there is no hope of revival of the economy. Can RBI do anything to bring back the BLACK MONEY from abroad and develop a mechanism which can stop the burgeoning parallel economy ?

he was economic adviser since 2012 for India govt.why not he did some good at that position.and as he took charge of gov. of RBI, he declared some concessions for banks on nri front but results of said concessions are far away and will take enough time to help economy, but market is in honeymoon period will watch how long this is possible with out any permanent solution.
