There have been 10 major exits at Infosys in the past one year. What do you think is wrong with the company?

Infosys President B G Srinivas' resignation marks the tenth top-level exit at the company in less than a year, with Ashok Vemuri, Sudhir Chaturvedi, V Balakrishnan and a few foreign executives being among the other human assets that the IT giant has lost. All of these exits have happened after N R Narayan Murthy came back to the company. What do you think ails the organisation that was once the darling of the stock exchanges? Do share your views with us.

The sad part of Infosys is that Narayan murthy does not understand the tragedy that can occur when prices fall 8-10 % he has been thinking that Infosys is his fathers company and has taken his sweet time in selecting a CEO Trouble started for Infosys when si bulla was appointed CEO mohandas who would and should have been made a CEO was bypassed for a senior but useless sibulal this started the decline in the fortunes of Infosys Now the rot has set in and it's tough to set in right Now what I meant by tragedy was whenever an adverse ANNOUCEMENT is made by Infosys stocks tanks by 8 % not just Infosys it brings down the it index for no fault of others this is what has to be brought to the notice of mr Narayan murthy that it's our hard earned money that's lost and not the easy money he has made all these years We have family and invest for their good and mr Narayan murthy is ruining us

Getting Narayan Murthy back should have been a time bound move - that he will steady the ship, get the right management team in place instead of Shibulal, and then move on. And under no circumstances his son should have come in. This has never happened in a professionally managed firm in India.

The challenge of Infosys lies in the following : 1. hero worshipping of the founder by the rank and file. His return to save his brainchild due to the failure of the leadership shows that NM himself failed to instal a culture of leadership instead of having loyal followers picked to lead! 2. By setting up a Leadership Institute does not gurarntee a leadership cukture and practoces being in place..If big talks by famous people were to be adequate exercise in bringing new leaders , that would have been easy. There is an even better easy solution ... Distribute all the best books of quotations by famous personalities pf the world and everybody can become smart !! False agenda. 3. confusing domain competence , say , engineering with other competencies as leadership , visionary etc. It does not work that way. ST retired as the best cricket batsman but his legacy as a captain , even he would like to forget quickly! 4. Refusal to become a learner and listener and believing that knowledge is everything. Knowledge is a commodity now on this fast paced tech world . Only when applied in a sustainable way that it can become a differentiator. 5. Believing that pay package is the solution to solving the problem of attrition ! The solutions exist bit the challenge of Infosys leadership is whether they recognize it ? All those 10 executives who left Infosys were presiding over various functions in the company during the last couple of years when the company was going down hill, and sice these worthies could not do much about that, it is better that they leave the company so that more capable persons could take their place.
