Should electoral rolls be outsourced so that large scale deletion of genuine voters, as seen in Mumbai, is avoided?

As many as 1.3 million genuine voters did not find their names in the electoral rolls in Maximum city and several, including high-profile people such as Deepak Parekh and Ram Jethmalani, had to leave the booths without exercising their franchise. Should the task of compiling the electoral rolls be outsourced so that the large-scale exclusion of genuine voters is is avoided? Outsourcing is not required but effective use of support from local bodies is required. Municipal bodes. , ration offices, etc are really at micro level and the employees , though not completely it literate , know the situation at ground level.beven now two girls visit every hoise to chevk child birth . This is happening ebery month. I am sure it snot costing 30000 crores like EC WANTS SPEND. EC ACTUALLY WANTS EGO BASED BUDGET AND SPENDING. INVOLVE LOCAP BODIES TO PREPARE VOTER LIST BY VISONTING EACH TENEMENT AND VALIDATE ITH PHOTO OR PAN CARD OR AADHHAR. IT SHOULD BE DONE WITH PROPER DATA ENTRY INTO COMPUTER BECAUSE DATA ENTRY COBTRACTS ARE POORLY EXECUTED.

Yes, definitely. It will bring in more accountability, vigour and technology. The 'Chalta Hai' attitude is responsible for current state of affairs

Outsourcing does seem to make sense. It has been successfully implemented in the passport department and in road toll collections, so there is every reason it will succeed here. Thankfully, none of my family members have faced such a problem
